By the end of 2015, 81% of Americans will have a smartphone, making the U.S. one of the global leaders in smartphone penetration. As smartphone use has spread, Americans have grown ever hungrier for apps. Apps make up 86% of the time people spend on their smartphone utilizing their internet capabilities. The U.S. is one the world’s “app store superpowers,” along with Japan and South Korea, by leading the world in revenue from the App Store and is second in Google Play revenue. One segment offering large opportunity is gaming. Americans are spending a majority of their time and money on gaming apps. 80% of App Store and Google Play revenue is currently coming from games.
The U.S. app market offers business opportunities for Swedish companies. The seminar is therefore an ideal occasion to learn more on how to take advantage of the rapidly growing industry while networking with other Swedish mobile technology companies.
The purpose of the seminar is to promote Swedish solutions and facilitate business and opinion leader contacts across Sweden and the U.S. A secondary purpose is for Swedish providers to better understand the characteristics of the American app industry.
